Fermenter 3 Upgrade

The City of Penticton Advanced Waste Water Treatment Plant Fermenter 3 Upgrade was a project to retrofit an existing digester to convert it to a fermenter. The project involved demolishing and removing the existing digester mechanism, structural changes and modifications to the tank, concrete radius wall construction inside the tank, liner installation, fermenter mechanism installation, fiberglass roof installation, site piping, stainless steel piping changes and re-installing existing pumps, retrofitting an existing building, new electrical and HVAC. The City of Penticton pre-selected the fermenter mechanism provider and novated the contract to Cumming Construction. AECOM was the project engineer and the project was completed in July 2015.
